Denzil Lile

“As we pulled out of the driveway and headed out I started looking at everything and trying to remember just how it was…Denzil T. Lile, Part 1 It’s April 1968. Just a few months earlier, three NVA Divisions attacked the Marine Combat Base at Khe Sanh in what will become the largest battle in Vietnam to date. US forces retake Route 9 (the road to Khe Sanh) on April 8, ending the siege. ¶ On this side of the globe, in December 1967, Denzil T. Lile became one of 228,263 men drafted that year. On Sunday, January 7, 1968 he’s driving to Bluegrass Airport in Lexington, KY.
